Face of Virtual Asia Contest: Round 5, Sun 1/27, 4:00 pm SLT

Round 5 of The Face of Virtual Asia ("FOVA") will take place on Sunday, January 27th at 4:00 p.m. SLT.   Music will be spun by DJ ZteflonDon during FOVA as well as for the continuing street party afterward  where the winner and runner up will be announced. 

We would like thank GloriaSilverstone, who was the winner of Round 4 of the contest. Gloria's whimsical and playful Harajuku styled image is on display on the City billboard (click to TP to the billboard to check it out).  Also, many thanks to Kaliwillo Lane Celt for her help with making Gloria's billboard image!

Come and wow us with your best Tokyo Street Chic/Harajuku/Kawaii/Ganguro styles (*No Gowns Accepted*) and walk away with a cool $1000L cash, $750L gift card from Vero Modero, your picture on a billboard over the bright lights of the City and gain exposure in the Virtual Asia media outlets. Also, a $500L gift card from Sassy! and a $750L gift card from Vero Modero, will be awarded to the second place winner!!!  This contest runs for 8 rounds, then the winner of each round will compete to win $10,000L, a $3,000L gift card from Vero Modero, be the *FACE OF VIRTUAL ASIA* for two months, and become a member of our own Virtual Asia *Models!

~ D'Noir~ in the City!

We Welcome ~ D'Noir~ to Virtual Asia!  

We were able to catch up with owner Natsumi ("Ɲąţ-ӄ™") Kangjon and learn a bit about her personally as well as her products.

Nat told us:

I have been in SL for over 5 years.  I love SecondLife, I am always discovering new things and have learned a lot by using what the media has to offer about SL.  I have learned to build and use PhotoShop and also have a love of photography.  I always wanted to learn how to make clothes.  My experiment in making clothes began with a very ugly shirt! My love affair with mesh tango lolas made me realize I could wear very sexy clothing without revealing too much!  There were not many clothes for lolas then and I thought I could make them myself.  I was very excited at the idea of creating and seeing these clothes, so ~ D'Noir~ was born!

I am a Spanish woman.  I have always loved the Asian culture, their show of respect, love of family and values which unfortunately do not always exist in some societies.  I discovered Virtual Asia from some pictures on a blog, since I am also a blogger.  I love the image and design of the city, the owners are very friendly, and I am loving being part of Virtual Asia!

Movie Trivia Party!!!

Downsizing of Apartments in the City

In the current challenging economic times, we are working to make sure that we are able to continue offering a great community, quality shopping, and fun entertainment experiences in the City.  To cut back on our overhead, we have downsized a small portion of the City land to save on costs.  With the downsizing of the land, we will be decreasing the number of apartments available in the City and charging a small rental fee for what had previously been the free apartments.  The former free apartments will be available to be rented for the small cost of $250L per month for 30 prims.  We hope you will agree that this charge is very minimal and will help us keep the costs of the City more manageable.

If you currently have one of the former free apartments in the City and wish to keep your spot, please be sure to do the following.  By January 15, 2013, please send a note card to Stormy Somerton with your name, landmark to your apartment, and a message that you wish to keep your apartment.  You will then be assigned a “Resident” tag in the Virtual Asia group and a rental box will be placed out for you.  Again, the cost will only be $250L per month for 30 prims.  If you have not notified Stormy by January 15^th, your items will be returned to you for the time being.  Afterward, space allowing, you may still rent a spot.  The apartments will be on a first come-first serve basis, so please send your note card to Stormy ASAP!

Party in the Skies of the City!

This weekend we partied like 80s rockstars high over the City at our first Rooftop Trivia Event! Fun, friends and great music was the theme of the night!  Also, $25L for each first correct answer as well as a $500L grand prize was given at the event!

If you could't make it, we'll be planning more parties with varying trivia themes soon.

Virtual Asia City Updates

As we look back on 2012, we reflect on many good times with great friends in the City. We also had many learning experiences this past year. We would like to pay special recognition to the core group of people and organizations that have helped us make the City what it is today. To our dear friends Margaux, Maria, Crazy, Kurenai, Weidner, Roxanne, Andie, Raz, Ashia, Sera, Riri, Dani, Yuki, Wei, ChenChen, Carl, Lim, Nova, Apiz, YoungWayne, Aidan, Oceane Body Designs, ProFashion Productions, The Collective, Dallas Modeling Corporation, 1 Hundred, Sassy!, Chica Boom, BlackLiquid Stores, FuLo, BSD Designs, Anam Group and Freebie Fashionista Kawaii Kloset, we thank you for all of your many contributions and hard work that you have contributed to the City. (Please note that Carl has been absent from the City for some time due to real life issues, but he is never forgotten in our hearts.) 

As the new year starts, we will also be making some changes in the City. We have restructured the organization and are delighted to have an additional new owner on board. Stormy joins Maanaf, Crazy and Maria as an Owner. Maanaf, Stormy and Margaux will be handling the daily operations of the City.

We will also be making some other changes and exploring some new opportunities. One change will be the revamping of the apartment system in the City. We will be decreasing the apartments to free up land space for other uses. Another change will be the addition of an active nightclub in the City.

There will be further breaking news in upcoming blog posts. We are very excited to keep the City alive and will continue to have fun activities for your enjoyment. Stay tuned!
